Gov. Perry and Texas State Sovereignty
AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today joined state Rep. Brandon Creighton and sponsors of House Concurrent Resolution (HCR) 50 in support of states’ rights under the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
“I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state,” Gov. Perry said. “That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union.”
A number of recent federal proposals are not within the scope of the federal government’s constitutionally designated powers and impede the states’ right to govern themselves. HCR 50 affirms that Texas claims sovereignty under the 10th Amendment over all powers not otherwise granted to the federal government.
It also designates that all compulsory federal legislation that requires states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties, or that requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding, be prohibited or repealed.
HCR 50 is authored by Representatives Brandon Creighton, Leo Berman, Bryan Hughes, Dan Gattis and Ryan Guillen.

What?
Do these children being shot with this deadly vaccine?
OMG the Governor makes Sense.
He allowed your auto insurance to be based on your credit score instead of emphasizing your good driving history.
He is helping a foreign company take over farmer's lands to build the NAFTA superhighway which is one of the steps in creating the infrastructure of the North American Union.. like the European Union...next on the agenda.. A one world government controlled by the United Nations.
He did go to a bilderberg meeting.
This is the 1st time the Governor makes sense.
The Federal Government is supposed to serve us not the other way around.
Read this about China:
To what end? Slavery of the American population.
Who needs all that federal money anyway?
I know it is not going to my kids, Yep, just throw the baby out with the bath water..Oh yeah.. Texas Way or the Highway!
How dare they expect a school district to be transparent and just.. really just shut up and vote no! NOT
After all we need to have all the teenage girls properly vacinated by mandate, why is it necessary for the Federal Government set standards of legal requirements on the great state of Texas? Texas needs to mandate on their own folk their way...So keep your title 1 and IDEA Funds. The only people it will matter to are the administration because the kids get nothing either way. They want room to muddle..
huh?
I have no idea what you are trying to say... are you agreeing or arguing?
Sorry to confuse you.
I was expressing the illogic of the idea and policy. We have Federal Laws that the Schools and States need to comply with or they risk losing the Federal Funds, including the Title I and IDEA and No child Left Behind. The laws are very clear and the rules are established with the policies, but the people who require the girls to have questionable vaccinations so they will not catch sexualy transmitted disease, do not want to be told they need to play by rules that are established as standards of ethics, in some cases. You need to understand we are being oppressed and imposed upon, and the tyrants do not want to change for the better good.
My kids should be benefiting from the Federal funding given to the DISD. Only the Legal office of Bracewell & Giuliani, get any of all that federal funding, and since the policy of the district is to hide under the table, I can only guess the administrators get a good share in their greasy hands. The district will lie and the governor is just the same. I say...KEEP THE FEDERAL MONEY>>> IT WON"T MATTER TO MY FAMILY!!!!!!

But encourage the girls to take it any way
My daughters doctor out and out lied to us in an effort to promote this drug. I was in the "service" for some time involved, against my will, testing "flu" drugs on unknowing soldiers. This is no different. Ladies, moms, dads, do your home work, this is not the first child to die. There is a pattern associated with the others who have died or are suffering very dibilitating side effects. The scale is tipped not balanced for the good vs. evil of this drug. Then, check how long the drug has been used on humans, where do we start drawing a line for our own self protection. It is our responsibility to protect our children.
Sovereignty
You know, as a native Texan, there's something "Texanish" about the word "secede." It seems like if you're a "real, proud" Texan, you have to occasionally make a joke about it!
The only problem with our Governor using the "s" word is that it makes us all out to look like nutcases.
I wish he'd calm down a bit, eh?
Texas is not the only state that is tired of Federal Mandates.
Texas is not the only state that is tired of Federal Mandates. Oklahoma told D.C. to back off awhile back too. Check this link out. http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=67229
The Federal government is overstepping its authority. It's Waco, and Ruby Ridge all over again. The propaganda was to make these people look like pedophiles, and religious nutcases.
These people minding thier own business were massacred by Federal Agents.
Whatever happened to freedom of religion and the right to bear arms.
[Ed Note: Yes, we've been finding "creative" ways to infringe on powers given specifically to the States. Then when people complain about it, they're labeled "extremists." I think the tide is turning though. Several "extremist" governors and governments are starting to get interested in this issue.]
no not extrremists...patriots
The extremists have a new label... potential "terrorists".. and then here come gestapo (homeland security) to take the governor away.
The bees are disappearing and they may not be around to pollinate our crops. Our pesticides are doing it.
Monsanto is producing a genetically modified crop that will self terminate after the 1st generation. The problem is when this self termination gene crosses over to other plants uncontrolled. Do I have to put 2 and 2 together for you? FAMINE!!!!!
It is predicted that there will be a food shortage soon. Time to buy up commodities and leave the country.
[Ed Note: So are you buying up stuff and planning to leave?]
Actually I'm hoping the gullible one's leave so that I can buy up their stuff on the cheap. I'm with ya'll... If we become fascists... I'm wearing jackboots and goosestepping just like the rest of you. There is no other choice other than to leave the country.

Arizona Looks to Outlaw Global Warming Legislation

Climate change is a controversial topic. Some believe man is causing the world to warm. Others point out that the Earth has undergone solar warming and cooling for millions of years and that current temperatures are well within historic levels. A recent report challenging AGW theory showed significant support with 31,478 U.S. researchers and scientists, many of whom hold Ph.D’s, signing a statement that they believe that man has not played a part in the current warming trend.
Arizona is now close to becoming the first state to outlaw climate change legislation. The state Senate voted Monday, 19-10 to approve a bill banning the Department of Environmental Quality from enacting or enforcing measures with language pertaining to climate change. The bill is now awaiting House approval.
The bill will likely pass and be signed into law thanks to a switch in power. Formerly, Janet Napolitano (D) was governor of the state, but she left to join Barack Obama’s Cabinet. Napolitano was replaced by Jan Brewer (R), who has not indicated a strong desire to support AGW theorists.

I never thought I'd say this, but where is Kay Bailey Hutchinson when we need her?? This guy is going off the deep end.
deep end?
He makes sense to me.
Hutchinson is corporate and is all for enslaving the people. Government regulated morality... just like the thought police in 1984.
Perry on the other hand apparently is just trying to make a buck.
